My name is Riley Temple. Please call me Professor Temple. I teach Arithmancy at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. I promise you it is not as hard as it seems.

The seventh year lesson is always my favorite.

They always get it without much direction from me. It puts me in the best mood.

Only for you, Riley. Only for you.

You know outside of the classroom you have to call me Professor Temple, Wynn. Its a privilege I extended to my seventh years and I don’t need everyone finding out. But thank you for that comment anyways.

Ophelia | Astronomy Tower

professorjenkins:

professor-temple:

Riley couldn’t help but grin wildly in Ophelia’s direction. He didn’t know what had come over him. Normally the icy professor never warmed to anyone, his Slytherin blood ran through and through, but something about the wicked Astronomy teacher got him actually feeling again. He didn’t want to think about what the future had in store for either of them, because he knew their paths didn’t cross much. The students were finding hard to pay attention to Ophelia while trying to stare at Riley in the back, but soon enough, the class was over. Riley pushed himself off the wall and approached Ophelia with a large grin.

“Another great lecture, Miss Jenkins.” He joked with her slyly. He moved close to her and stood with his back to the grounds. He just wanted to see her face in the moonlight. She was remarkable. Their friendship started slowly. Riley wasn’t letting anyone get close to her and she was persistent. He had no idea what she saw in him, but he was glad that she insisted on being his friend. She never took no for an answer. He really adored her. It was weird feeling. “How was it? The clear night must of put you in the best mood. I bet your students couldn’t contain you.” He laughed to himself at thought of her practically exploding on her students.

“Well good evening, Mister Temple.” Ophelia shyly tucked a stand of hair behind her ear and she slowly approached her new company. She always felt so short when she was around him. Knowing her, it would typically annoy her having to get up on her toes to kiss somone on the cheek and having to literally look up at them when they spoke. Yet, with Riley, it made her feel kind of… safe. Not that she would ever admit to it though.

The astronomy professor had never had a “boyfriend”. So this whole dating thing was still pretty new to her and, even though she never really acted like it, she was kind of scared around Riley. She liked him too much to mess things up. “Oh, it was just… another lecture.” She laughed and coyly wrapped her arms around his waist, pulling herself closer to him. It was hard for Ophelia to admit she was giddy about something; she wasn’t her sister in the slightest. “Though, I must admit, the sky does look quite lovely tonight.”

Riley almost couldn’t move when her slim arms wrapped around his body. He was acting like a bloody Hufflepuff. Getting his body to relax, he wrapped his arm around the small woman. She fit. She bloody fit to his shape. What the hell was going on? He was becoming a pathetic muggle romance book. His life was about numbers and teaching, not about feeling for another person. He looked down at her and smiled. She was a good head shorter than him and he loved it. She was oddly perfect. His brain instantly went to — too good to be true — but he didn’t want to think of that now.

“Everything looks lovely tonight.” Riley wasn’t being coy. His eyes found hers in the moonlight and he smiled a small smile. “Do you still want to get a cup of tea?” He lowered his voice to her as he felt his cold wall drop and he became more warm with Ophelia. He knew that he and the woman were on the same level with feelings. They hardly ever showed them, but with her it was different. He didn’t know if he brought it out in her, he honestly couldn’t tell, but she definitely brought it out in him. “Or we could just stay out here. Like this.” He was referring to how he was still holding her. He didn’t know what he wanted more.

Ophelia | Astronomy Tower

professorjenkins:

Tonight was one of the rare nights in which Professor Ophelia Jenkins was actually in a good mood. She was typically peeved about how clouds blocked out certain constellations or the fact that students couldn’t understand what she was pointing out. But, tonight, the sky was perfectly clear and everyone seemed to be enticed with her lesson for once. The young woman was actually so into her lesson that she didn’t even notice her “beau” walk onto the platform of the tower.

“Now, answer this- how is it that we can see the Milky Way galaxy and yet we are in it?” Ophelia actually tore her eyes away from the night sky as she asked the question. It didn’t take her long to notice that Professor Temple was standing there; something that was distracting a majority of her pupils. Blushing slightly, the former Ravenclaw shot him a quick grin before clearing her throat. It seemed almost instantly that everyone’s eyes were back on her.

“Well, seeing as though we’re now out of time, I expect all of you to turn in a well written essay tomorrow on my previous question. And, by well written, that means at least a page, Mister Davidson. Not a sentence. Got it?” She clasped her hands together and smiled at the eager group of fifth years who seemed to be yearning to leave. “Class dismissed! Go get a good nights sleep.”

Riley couldn’t help but grin wildly in Ophelia’s direction. He didn’t know what had come over him. Well I think that it’s just a challenging class, and most students just haven’t gotten the swing of it yet. I’m sure by the time winter rolls around it will get better. I think you make the tests very blatant! But in a good way!

I guess that it is still early in the semester. Maybe I’m being too preemptive with my conclusions. That is good to hear. Thank you, Ms. Jones.

Arthimancy is easy! I could help tutor other years if you wanted me too.

I wouldn’t exactly call it easy, Ms. Fox. But for some people it doesn’t come naturally. I’m probably going to have some of my seventh years help me out, but if I need more tutors I will ask you. Thank you for your offer.

It seems like none of you do your homework, all you do is snog.

professor-jenkins:

This is out of hand.

I couldn’t agree more, Professor Jenkins.
